We’re delighted to invite you to À l’ombre des astres II, a live audiovisual show under the stars copresented by Le Sémaphore, Hors champ, Zoom Out and TECHNÈS, with support from the Conseil des arts de Montréal and the Canada Council for the Arts.

The event will bring light to the beauty coming out of the unlikely, yet not merely incidental encounter between five projectionists, four musicians and two obscure 16 mm film collections.

Program :

1. VOYAGE EXQUIS, by Louis Pelletier, with musical improvisation by Étienne Morneau, Alexandre Ouellet and Mick Pelletier. Montage of travel films shot from the 1930s to the 1960s by an amateur filmmaker, Dr. Maxime Brisebois, creating composite landscapes in Kodachrome.
2. CADAVRE EXQUIS #2, by André Habib, Julie de Lorimier, Charles-André Coderre and William Gagnon, with audio remixing by Anne-F Jacques. Film battle between multiple projectionists using the scientific films collection of the Université de Montréal

Sound system

Sound will be locally diffused through a radio emitter. Several radios will be dispersed on the grounds, but you’re invited to bring your own device for an augmented experience.
