The Laboratoire CinéMédias of the Université de Montréal is pleased to announce that cinema professor André Gaudreault of the Université de Montréal is the winner of the 2018 Killam Prize for the humanities, granted by the Canada Council for the Arts.

The winner of the award is a professor in the Département d’histoire de l’art et d’études cinématographiques (cinema and video game section) at the Université de Montréal. He holds the Canada Research Chair in Film and Media Studies and is director of the Laboratoire CinéMédias, of GRAFICS, of the Observatoire du cinéma au Québec and of the international research partnership TECHNÈS.

The Killam program is funded by a bequest from Dorothy Killam, who wished to honour the memory and exceptional achievements of her husband, Izaak Walton Killam.
